Just Announced

certinally announced a while ago…but very tempting

JOHN CAMERON MITCHELL, THE ORIGIN OF LOVE, THE SONGS AND STORIES OF HEDWIG
Fri, Feb 8, 2019 @ 8 pm
National Theater

Put on some makeup and turn on your tape deck – it’s time to experience the original Hedwig! John Cameron Mitchell, performs songs from his groundbreaking rock musical and regales the audience with stories from 20 years of Hedwig’s history. He’ll also preview songs from his upcoming musical Anthem

So he's writing a musical about the new IMP venue…strange

Opening this fall, Union Stage will have a 450-person capacity.

Then I doubt it will sell out for a while if that

WAPO really wrote a scintillating write up to get people to this show

Veteran rocker Stephen Malkmus is taking an odd left turn with “Groove Denied,” an electronic album that his label reportedly shelved at first. It’s weird, but the 52-year-old Pavement co-founder puts his trademark slacker vocals over ’80s synth beats on first single “Viktor Borgia.”

-odd left turn
-reportedly shelved
-its' weird

Wtf is "premier plus" at Union Stage?

Natalie Prass @ Rock n' Roll Hotel on 4/19

I'd assume that will sell out quite quickly.

Hate the venue, especially for sold out shows, but might go anyway. Like the early-ish Friday start time.

Fr 5/10/19      Ex Hex w/ The Messthetics
Tu 5/28/19    Betty Who

Show conflict with Drive-Bys/Lucinda.    I'm opting for the Hedwig show though

Whole point with Malkmus is it’s going to be different

On that note, I'm going to be in client meetings all day Friday, can someone pick me up a ticket and I will pay them back as well

Then I doubt it will sell out for a while

FYI…went on Saturday…not sold out (should have asked how it was selling)
…also similar to IMP, they don't charge the 'fees' when buying at Box office (although there isn't really a box office, but just someone with a laptop) so it was flat $30

Hutch I got your ticket…
