Only numetal band that continues to get a pass.

Somebody explain why, please.
Does anyone else find it interesting that Jonathan Richman is playing the 9:30 club here in DC but his Baltimore shows are at Golden West?  Fairly large size discrepancy between the venues– and I know that Golden West just added a 2nd JR show, but still.
I tweeted that exact same thing a little while back. Glad to see that I am not the only one who noticed that.
He played Creative Alliance at Patterson in 2011 and that was 180 seats.
People tend to go out more in DC than Baltimore…

I don't get it, either.  Will admit that I think their first 2 1/2 albums are ok.  But the continued appreication of their efforts baffles me.
Oh don't get me wrong! It's great that he is still playing there! Better the Club than DC9 or something.
The fact that he is playing a room 1/8 the size on this tour is still funny, however.

I like some of Deftones shit, but it wasn't til recently [thanks in part to iheartradio] never got their appeal. Always thought they were overrated and that MOST of their shit sounds exactly the same. For the most part I still think that way, but I've heard more recently that I liked. Still don't get how they're so popular.

What needs more explanation is why shows for Norva continue to get posted in the just announced thread.
because not everyone on the board lives in the DC area, and some of us do go to shows at the NorVa from time to time.
At least two board members live in San Francisco, at least one is from San Francisco, and many of us have been to San Francisco. Should we post San Francisco shows in this thread as well?

we discussed this a long time ago.. any show further than baltimore should be on one of the other just announced threads created for that purpose
great, just great
I've been to some shows in Buenos Aires… still have family there… its a nice place.. I dig it…

I think people should post  shows happening in Buenos Aires on this thread… I may be there on vacation.. you never know..
I saw Elvis Costello in St. Louis once.  And Pearl Jam in Kansas City.  That show kinda sucked.
I moved to Virginia Beach, so I love seeing the NorVa announcements here. :)

Also, I love the Deftones. Their 4th and 5th records lost my interest, but Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan are incredible.
