Katy Perry is the girl who used to be a Christian rock singer then went and wrote a song about making out with another girl, right?

Or am I thinking of someone else?
nope, that's her… she's of the "i kissed a girl and i liked it" fame. she's totally talented, no chance that she'll fade into oblivion before this date. none.
ugh… tried listening to her album it was a painful experience… she'll be obscure within a year…
What happened to the other girl who had a hit song called "I Kissed a Girl"? I think it was in 95-96? I forget her name.

Edit:
found it!
i dont know, people are still listening to Gnarls Barkley!

The day after SXSW. I can't go because I'm pretty sure I'll be dead by then.

yes, but they are entertaining to watch. katy sings over herself and just walks to and fro. at least with gnarls you have the keyboard guy jumping up and down clapping and doing sideways splits–much more entertaining imo
And Cee-Lo does have a killer voice.

Nightmares On Wax
Jan 29 2009
Black Cat Backstage, Washington, DC

also doing 2 shows in NYC on 1/27 and 1/28.
Wow that's huge!

Kills me that it's the same night as Lindstrom in NYC, though. I was all set to go to that.
well, you could do NoW on 1/28 in NYC, and then Lindstrom the next night… that's my plan if i'm anywhere near NYC in january :D
NOW have a full band live, no?

I really don't want this to be like when Tosca finally came to the states and the show was just Huber doing 20 minutes of aimless keyboard noodling->sub-par, trainwreck-filled Dorfmeister DJ set. That show was a letdown of epic proportions. And it cost $25!
based on the info on his myspace and the schedule, i strongly believe it will be with full band.
man..nightmares on wax.

I just have to say how much I agree with this!..What a letdown! I waited like 8 years and then I got this shitpie show.

Although the Huber noodling was the highlight… At least it sounded a bit like Tosca.. the DJ set sounded nothing like it…
I also thought that the fact that it was billed as a "live set" by their label was very misleading.

Sure a few of the Tosca tracks that were spun had live vocalists to go along with them but it's definitely more accurately defined as a dj set than anything else.

And damn…I expected so much more from Dorfmeister on decks.
