Just Announced

Did some poking around and it appears Sidehatch is right on this one.

Though the prices for standing and seated used to be the same, it appears that most or all of the current shows on the calendar have a higher price for seating.

In regard to standing in front:

Please note that there will be a dance floor for this show and the front row of tables will be cleared out. Be advised that there may be some seated areas where vision of the stage may be obstructed. **** Ticket price includes a champagne toast and gumbo dinner.

FYI: Old 97's did do an appearance at Iota one time. I didn't go, but I remember readind that it was more of a listening party for a new album (where they actually showed up…not sure if they played). So Sidehatch is sort of right on saying theay they've only played shows at 9:30. Rhett Miller has played solo shows at a number of local venues.

I think I'll sit this one out and wait for the next 9:30 Club show.

Sorry I'm too lazy to move this to commentary thread.

First time the've come to town and not play the 930

Don't really love that venue because of all the seats
what is nice is you can buy the cheaper standing room seats then go down to the tiny dance floor and stand in front of the people who paid for the seats in the front

More often than not the tickets are the same price and there are tables all the way towards the stage on the dance floor.  Wouldn't assume that you'll be able to stand in front – worth checking first.

only reason i thought about it was because i recently picked up this very rare 4 cd set of live recordings and one of the cds is almost completely from a show at the howard in 78…back when PFUNK was PFUNK and DC was the Chocolate City…awesome to hear a DC crowd so into it..its hard to imagine but this was sort of their home base…

Not too hard to imagine.  All the old heads come out for those shows, its one of my favorite parts of going to see him.  State Theater was much more packed for Bootsy Collins than I thought it would be.  DickHead is always at the P-Funk family shows stirring up shit.

It's been at least a decade since I've seen PFunk… I can't imagine George Clinton can even move around the stage at this point?
