Also with Time Columns.

the Postal Service
Postal Service and BS/Yo La Tengo are the "big announcements" that MPP was tweeting about yesterday?

Lolz
I think B&S/YLT is pretty big but anybody who frequents this board knew it was coming.

Postal Service is cool but I was never a superfan. Would be more likely to do that one if it were in DC itself.
The Hamilton:

Ben Ottewell of Gomez April 19
Les Claypool's Duo de Twang April 27
Postal Service is popular enough to headline MPP? Really? How many top selling albums or singles have they had recently? Or ever had?

I realize the answer to the same question for Belle and Sebastian is 0, but they are sort or revered indie icons. Does Postal Service have the same status?

I'm guessing about 5k tops in ticket sales for those shows. IMP is making some interesting choices in summer bookings.

I got a press release that said this was at Golden West, but it's on the Metro Gallery's schedule….so I would tend to believe that.

Well, the Postal Svc has already sold out one show at the Barclay's Center in New York, so they apparently do draw– at least in NYC.
Postal Service sold a million records and only did one proper tour. I think the demand is there for them to pack Merriweather….not sure if a sell-out matters though, I'm sure IMP will make dough even if it is at 75 percent capacity.
Anyone remember that Washington Post chat Dante did when they moved the Black Cat to its current spot? Someone asked if they would keep prices similar to that of the old location and ended his/her comment with "I don't want to pay $20 to see Belle and Sebastian." Dante replied "yes" but that has also changed.

Edit: Found it.

I also misremembered the quote.

I appreciate that you try to keep it (relatively) cheap, but I'm not looking forward to playing $25 + service charges the next time Belle and Sebastian
come to town and play at the 9:30.

I hate that place but still might go to this to finally see KEN Mode.
