yeah the only place i'd find that weird is in DC … otherwise against me!, for better or worse, just has a way higher profile right now (spin's 2007 album of the year, MTV/rolling stone hype, etc)

I'll grant you occasionally Azgahal posts some obscure stuff, but easily 85% of that lineup are easily recognizable artists unless you've been living in a cave listening exclusively to your local top 40 station for the last decade.

I think it was another of his cute little jabs at sweetcell.

<queue sweetcell post about joe marshmallow's dancing or lack there of>
i havent heard of most of them, lol. maybe half….and i dont even OWN a radio!
i seriously don't know any of them…

julian: i don't listen to top 40. maybe you do?
The cool thing about shows like these is that many of the sets are completely improvised; regardless of whether or not you've heard of a given performer, everyone in the room is hearing the material being performed for the first time.

I thought Tony Conrad was a household name at this point?

And Mr. Marshmallow, you saw Chris Corsano play drums for Bjork at Coachella.

And I'm pretty sure Martin Schmidt is 1/2 of Matmos.

snailhook would probably remember better but there were maybe around 60-70 or so people there when they played the warehouse a couple years ago? remixes of songs pimped on blogs draws much better than droney/weirdo psych rock.
