Until the last few years, shows that were $40+ were quite rare. My 400 shows are spread out over nearly 30 years of concert going. When I first started going to shows, you could see bands like Van Halen, Rush, Queen, or Ozzy at the local hockey arena for under $10.
I guess my point was that it seems foolish to pay $45 to see Ryan Adams when you can see someone who's equal or better, for $15. Someone like A.A. Bondy. But I guess for some people, there's no real difference between $15 and $45.Yada wrote:
Well, $10 in the late 70's to early 80's is equal to about $26 to $40 in today's dollars, so that is not a big of a difference. Also, It's possible that the production costs of large shows today is relatively higher than they were then.
Also, yes, for some people the difference between $15 and $45 is not that big of a deal, so can you now stop posting about your disbelief in this phenomenon?
Just Announced
Last post was from me, not quoted from Yada, sorry, message board fail.
Just embrace the fact that Rhett is culturally and fiscally superior to all of us.

They want their fans to be able to buy $5 tickets off ebay the week of the show

HHAHAH… that's my plan.
Last album sold almost a million and had a number 1 Billboard single. They won three Grammys. New album is number 1 preorder on Amazon.
All that said, I still think they'll have trouble selling out Verizon.
