aaaaaaah, dammit - i'll be out of the country for that one. they were one of my favorite shows of 2007 (was that the last time they played the 930?) and i have been looking forward to them again.

now its cool that you like them, and that you saw them before and couldn't wait to see them again . . . but was saying that you'll be out of the country really nothing more than saying, "you (the rest of us) won't be."

yes, walkies, it's all about YOU. when someone says they're at a show, they're actually saying "i was there AND YOU WEREN'T". when someone else says they won't be at a show, they're saying that they'll be somewhere else AND YOU WON'T BE.

things are never as they seem (or as they are written) - they are always about YOU.

This show is with GIRLS.

this is sure to be a huge selling point for this show - unlike most shows that joe posts about where, like sci-fi conventions, girls stay far far away. hey, music dorks: this might be the closest you get to having a date all year!

Alas, my wife finally gets to relive her first concert. I wonder if her father will make her go with the older guy from church again.

Oh my God. You're kidding me. How did you find this out?? There are no words to express my excitement. Girls are fucking amazing, I've been obsessed since Lust for Life was the only song on their Myspace profile, been waiting for this ever since. Go check it out. I can't even belieeeeeeeeeeeve this GEEKOUT and I can't believe I heard about this here first

On that note, who are Los Campesinos? Are they any good? Not that I won't go anyways.

Oh, well. I guess that leaves more time that night for everyone to buy me birthday drinks ;D
I guess calling them generic isn't fair, honestly. They don't do much for me and are pitchfork darlings, though. It is fairly upbeat music and the girl has a decent enough voice. Never seen them live.

Actually, the girl with the decent enough voice is no longer in the band. The source: Pitchfork, of course.

Ahh.

Well shit.

More time for those of us who are going to buy Samantha birthday drinks, then.

Live Nation is waiving service fees for lawn tickets on Wednesday of this week:

Lies!

Live Nation's 'no service fee' tickets do carry fees

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) – Music fans who buy concert tickets during Live Nation's "No Service Fee Wednesday" may be surprised when they check their receipt and see some service fees were charged.

Live Nation's announcement for the promotion – and stories based on their news release – did not mention the concert promoter's narrow definition of a "service fee."

"Fans will still be asked to pay parking fees (usually $6) as well as in some cases facility fees and/or charity fees," Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin wrote in a reply to CNN's request for clarification.

cont.

All of these "fees" exist because the law allows them to. Same thing with the ridiculous "upgrade fees" and "regulatory surcharges" on cell phone bills.

If the law said that barring govt. taxes, the published price was the price, then we wouldn't have these problems. As is, what's their incentive not to do it?
