I can't believe you've all forgiven them for that 'Popular' song. Death to Nada Surf!!

I do believe "Popular" is the only song I've ever heard by them.

And yes, it's definitely legit.

From Carl Craig's booking agent's site:

09.26: CARL CRAIG (DJ)/ DEMON DAYS @ The Gallery, Silver Spring, MD
How legit is this venue for after hours events? The last thing I need is to get caught up in a police raid of a illegal late night event. One went down in Detroit recently and it was pretty ugly…
If that were the only song I'd ever heard by them, I'd have to agree.

But I heard their last three albums before I ever heard "Popular", so I must point out that you're way off target based on those three albums.

I have no idea.

But that booking is as random as it gets.

Go buy, borrow or download Let Go. it is a great album. Their new album, Lucky, is one of the few bright lights in this dark, dreadful year for music
It's no '07 (but arguably no other year in this decade is as good as '07) but I don't know about dark and dreadful.
I've found plenty to get excited about music-wise this year.
Bowerbirds opening for Calexico…hell yeah :)
I might have an m83 ticket to sell.

Yep, Let Go is one of the best records ever. No joke. Lucky is great too.
The Pietasters/Toasters 10/31 930

So much for that Man Man show I was hoping for. :(

And:
Sisters of Mercy 11/5 930
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals 12/6 930

With the exception of Nada Surf, December is looking dismal so far.
Whoops screwed that up
please make sure you're sitting down before reading any further.

Good to know, as it was a art gallery in Detroit that got busted for holding an illegal after hours event. I'd seen listing for other events there, but didn't realize it was a weekly thing…

Anyone been to this Gallery in Silver Spring? How big is it, etc…

Carl Craig's PA at Movement this year was a definite highlight and he has released some amazing tracks over the years. His DJ trick many years ago was spinning a record upside down by using a thread spindle and flipping over the needle…
