Damn, Rhett! I would have never taken you for a Richard Hawley fan. A bit too Brit for your normal fare. ;) I'd like to see him too.

THUR MAR 23- THE JOGGERS

Same night as Jenny Lewis
and, uh, according to Pollstar (and i pray to lord that this is incorrect), The Elected & The Magic Numbers are scheduled to play 9:30, as well, on the 23rd…

i don't see any way in hell how they could actually do that

i can't decide whether i like Jenny or Blake better; and furthermore, i can't decide HOW they would pull this off exactly–almost all of the people that play in Jenny Lewis' backup band are also members of The Elected. unless they plan to teleport in between songs, i don't have a clue as to how they would work this out.

by the way…i just found out that Whispertown 2000 are opening for Jenny, so if you're planning on going to that show, get there early. she is/they are quite decent.

this looks really good … i like what i've heard from film school, and that "hey now" song by the cloud room is worth paying the cover to hear
source?

Jenny Lewis, The Elected, The Magic Numbers, Ted Leo, and Prodigy all on the same day. Crap.
Ted Leo is the 24th. Unless you were referring to his Charlotte show on the 23rd.

And according to his website, they're playing Coachella, which I don't remember seeing in the initial announcement.

Damn! I really want to see Islands. But that's a busy month… They should be touring on their own soon, right?

March 8th at DC9

BigYawnat the 9
Two if By Sea
Asobi Seksu
$10

Also, the 3/23 High Dials show is being rescheduled, which is good, since it looks like there are more than enough shows going on in the city that night. We'll announce it as soon as we know.

The High Dials have been pegged to open for some of Neko Case's tour dates. Martha Wainwright is on the others. Let's hear it for Montreal! :)
