The thing is, you aren't even exaggerating that much.

I might actually go for once in my life.  This has quite a few metal bands that I currently dig (and a few punk ones too).  How is this on the exact same day it was in 2016?  Weird.
Hot Chip (DJ Set)
Kabana Rooftop (RVA)
Sun 4/30 during brunch

Well, that band has dropped off dramatically. Echostage to a middling rooftop restaurant in less than 2 years.

I considered going but decided against it.

I.M.P. Signs 40-Year Lease To Operate Merriweather Post Pavilion Amidst $55 Mil Renovation

"I grew up here and the idea that I got to make a deal and run Merriweather is like a baseball fan being handed Wrigley Field," Seth Hurwitz, I.M.P.'s chairman, told Billboard during a tour of the renovated facility. "Are you kidding me? Seriously, am I dreaming?"

Backstage swimming pools.
At a Mid-Atlantic shed, that pool is gonna make Seth every musician's favorite uncle.
Lee "Scratch" Perry opening for Empire of the Sun. Interesting bill.

It is kind of interesting how some of these legends as they get older feel like touring more and more… I think its cause they know time is running out..
They're also making A LOT less from album sales which i think has more to do with it

He's an old Jewish man who has made piles and piles of money back when people paid for albums. I don't think he's hurting for money due to declining album sales.

I was at Wolf Trap and 9:30 show.  Both excellent shows.  Will prob go to MPP if prices reasonable, since it's 10 minutes away
