:D :D :D

Snail knows why I'm smiling.

This is going to be a good show!
I was just going to ask whether he disbanded the band.

Do you know if he still has Mother Superior backing him up? They rock.

hmmmm
he said he's gonna be at the Black Cat (i think with band) in October
I don't think anyone has posted this. If it has been, please forgive the duplication. From the 9:30 Club e-mail newsletter's just announced section:

Sunday, 9/4, 9:30 Club:
John Hiatt & Shawn Colvin Solo Acoustic
7pm Doors

I'm intrigued and especially interested in seeing Shawn Colvin. Isn't this the kind of show that the Shushmere would normally get? Or Iota? Nice going, 9:30!

Yes, DO NOT MISS THIS CRUCIAL GIG! DMBQ are superstars in Japan but opened for 2 local bands at the black cat backstage the last time they were in DC and blew them clean off the stage. Help make them become the rock n roll royalty they most definitely are. An explosive live act.

I listened to some songs on their web site and definitely want to see them.
Both John Hiatt and Shawn Colvin are wayyyy too big for Iota. And John Hiatt charges an arm and a leg when he's at Birchmere…

I saw Shawn Colvin at a festival many years ago…sort of boring, in my opinion. I once saw John Hiatt sing the national anthem at an O's game.

Wow… RAWK! These guys are nuts. Very glad for the recommendation, I will definitely be checking this out.
Yeah, I missed the last show because it was my birthday. If everything goes according to plan, I won't miss this one.

if shawn colvin played at iota there would be a riot to get in … cardigans would be sullied by merlot and minivans overturned … panic on the streets of clarendon!

rhett, isn't shawn colvin one of those watered-down commercialized "americana" artists like nancy griffith? or am i confusing the two.
the wonderful Inara George will be opening for Idlewild on their US tour
