I saw Broken Social Scene at Warner Theater in 2010 and it was a great show but that was also because the gd Anthem didn't exist yet wtf is this crap
Just Announced
Anyways Warner Theatre is fabulous venue
The seats are off putting
Pavement might of considered packaging a tour with another 90s band to be able to play a bigger venue like Anthem but it’s all water under the bridge now

And they couldn't fill the anthem.

Well there are two or three possibilities
1. IMP passed on having them at Lincoln
2. They booked the entire tour with Live Nation (Warner is LN)
3. IMP made an offer but LN was higher
But if we think about it Malkmus last 2-3 times through DC did not go with IMP
Malkmus is a natural smaller club like the black cat as of recent years… but I think your live Nation theory is legit.

They got to be hoping they can move more tickets than their usual 930 shows
It’s been ten years since their last area show so going back to 930 as storied a venue as it is would be a bit sad and also not maximize Benjamin’s
Now is there a meet and greet option?!?
I have never seen Pavement.
Saw SM and Jicks once, opened for Radiohead.
Warner capacity is 150% Lincoln capacity.

not a huge fan of the warner, but I didn't think we'd ever see Pavement back in DC
so I'm in
…if only they would only play songs thru Wowee Zowee

Likewise, but I worry about guys like space and other over the hill rockers batching about people standing, etc.

No worries, never got into that band. I'm white, but not that white.
Says Wilco/old 97s dude
You can’t make this shit up

Its remains bizarre to me that one of the most popular bands in this community who haven't toured in a decade+ announce shows and all this community can do is grouse about the venue.
