Just Announced

In response to the second Rock the Bells date, is the lineup going to differ at all besides Rage and Wu-Tang?
YACHT is the new opener for LCD Soundsystem; the old opener had problems getting a preformer's visa and couldn't get into the country.

From what I've been told, Rage, Wu-Tang, & Cypress Hill are confirmed along with "several other" bands. I haven't heard anything extra about Nas for either date yet. Public Enemy is for sure on Saturday, though . . . .
Definitely see them if you can! This was one of my favorite sets of the weekend. I thought it'd be like most reunion shows; half-assed and sloppy but it was anything but. No aimless noise at all; they got up there, played a great set of their best material and killed.
I sold my sunday ticket because I camped and the intense heat of both friday and saturday completely drained my friend and I so I missed that other hyped reunion show.

Has anyone heard anything about more supposed dates for Rage Against the Machine. I heard somewhere that they are playing something like 15 more shows. Has anyone else heard this or have a source for it?

I'd love to see them, but not sure I want to go all the way to NYC. If there are 15 more dates, I'm guessing something would be closer.

Haven't heard anything about it thus far. NYC's only 3 hours away, plus Randall's Island is a nice place to catch a show. I can see that rumor being true though, cause the buzz from Coachella is deafening in the streets right now. We'll see . . . . .
NYC is only 3 hours from where and by what means of transportation? Not by car from DC.
I'm too lazy to look for the old Arcade Fire thread…but I was just able to grab a ticket for this week's show from TicketMaster.

depends what time you leave, how fast you drive, but it typically takes me about 3.5 hrs from nyc (hells kitchen to be exact) to virginia. i wont comment on how fast i drive, but im not a slower driver on the road :)

granted if theres traffic and what not youre screwed. but leaving on a friday night - i usually make it down there in no time at all.

buses are available for cheap (chinatown buses), trains and planes :) NYC is not THAT far away!
4 hours, 23 minutes from my house in VA, according to mapquest.

I dont' think the Roots are playing Sunday, and Rakim and Erykah Badu are. There are some other subtle changes in the announcement, but I'm hoping the shows mirror one another more or less with the special guests from each day being announced acts the other. I'm flying from NYC to Myrtle Beach to see the White Stripes the next day before coming back to dc, so hopefully they won't do anything I'd regret missing on sunday.

As to 15 more shows, HIGHLY UNLIKELY, but I can't say impossible. Spoke with Guerilla Union guys on Monday morning as they haven't sold out the California RTB's yet, and asked if there was any hope RATM would play outside of the four dates for them, and the answer was a resounding NO, as they really wanted them to play the other RTB dates nationwide (that's probably where the 15 show rumor started), but that's not going to happen. Now whether they decide to do something in the run up to the elections, can never say never but THAT's the only rumour I've heard that has credence. But again unlikely.

Oh and take your ass to new york, Randal's island is a good venue and everyone needs to get out DC at least once a year.
