Just Announced

TUES SEPT 20- FREE MUSIC ENSEMBLE (FME) $10 backstage 9:00 it's a killer lineup-joe mcphee, paul lytton, joe morris & peter brotzmann.
you have got to be kidding

i have nisennenmondai at the warehouse that night, and this is something that i have to somehow see. these four musicians are the cream of the crop as far as avant-improv goes.
Danny Thompson
sounds like an interesting guy - I may try and catch one of these gigs
brennser, danny thompson was the bassist in one of my favorite british folk-psych bands, the pentangle. he was also a session musician for all the revered folkies of that era and appeared on albums by nick drake, john martyn, and many others. his command of traditional folk, jazz, and blues is impeccable. the two thompsons together are unmatched as far as songwriting and musicianship goes.

Make an effort to keep this community of artists vibrant and open the doors to more artist development & exposure in the region. Last year was great with over 800 people attending and this year it will be even better.

*Though the event is free we expect everyone coming to bring at least one piece of canned food for the Philadelphia Food Bank, if you arrive and have no canned food with you there is a supermarket across the street from the Rotunda where you can purchase some canned food items. No canned food = no admittance.

Not in here it hasn't but it's all over my other cyberhaunts.

A friend of mine is putting this on but I still can't get out of Tommy what time everything starts and ends. I suspect that hasn't been worked out yet.

There's also another very good Shoegaze festival going on very soon in Fredricksburg, Virginia. I'll have to dig up the details later and come back with them.
^^WALL OF SOUND FEST.. theres a myspace site with more info. I'd be there but its on the same day as free folk.. its gonna be cool though, 2 stages across from eachother. while one band sets up the other plays, ONSLAUGHT!

"Dude, Taking Back Sunday r0x0r my s0x!!1"
what does taking back sunday have to do with trembling blue stars? that's like wanting to go see wolf eyes but thinking bardo pond can't play. no consistency whatsoever.

and pickup, nothing can replace love (unless the pretty things mount another tour), but i'm trying to find a silver lining for september 28th.

when people use the acronym "TBS" in terms of bands, it often refers to Taking Back Sunday

the joke was pretty fucking hilarious if you ask me, i had to peel myself off the floor after a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter … well done!
Maybe you could watch Rock Star:INXS that night.
