Ok let me clarify, because I too liked TNV and that was a bad example. I just meant bands that got a little hype a long time ago and just never really took off

I just know that I saw Ratatat as an opener 15 years ago and this is not a band I would pay to see.

LOL we saw Ratatat at 930 just to see the opener. We lasted 10 minutes of Ratatat's set.  What a joke of a band….

Hahaha yeah we did.
It was Black Pus and he probably made the earplugless children in the front row there to see Ratatat lose a substantial fraction of their hearing.

hadn't heard of these guys and looked them up
but after seeing this
Ratatat is a Brooklyn-based rocktronica duo
I was quickly dissuaded from looking further

never heard or seen them…that line just made me not want to look any further
