He sucks. Was better as a glam rocker, though still sucked then.

Hi my name is Jesse. I am a wanker. I spend four hours a day on my hair. Then I go suck Ryan Adams' little weenie.

No doubt. The Meadowlands is such a great album. Not sure how much of a live show they would be, but sure to be worth it.

they are very good live
Hey Rhett…I agree that Jesse is a bit much to take but I caught him solo opening for Adams in St. Louis a few months ago and he was GREAT! He played a 20 min acoustic set that actually sounded amazing…he closed with this song from his album called Silver Manhattan…the album version is ass but the acoustic version actually amazing.

I will not be one of those wasting my $$$ to see him however.
Malin was a complete bore when he played with the Long Winters and Brendan Benson at the Black Cat, I hope to never see him again, and I hope he never tells his Barbara Streisand story again
Pollard I agree on the Wrens…saw them at the Black Cat the last time they were in DC and they were great. Looking forward to that show (if I am in town).

I think Malin told that story to us as well…how unoriginal.
Would this be the story?

This spurs him on to tell a lengthy tome lasting at least ten minutes. Admittedly itâ??s a great story, about how he worked at a furniture removal store and had to move Barbara Streisandâ??s bed. It started raining and consequently Barbaraâ??s bed got soaked because of a hole in the old vanâ??s roof. Their solution was to drink and they ended up in Brooklyn, which was the name of the next song. As entertaining as these anecdotes are, for me these chats are far too long â?? heâ??s a musician not a comedian. â??Get on with itâ? I was thinking.
that would be it

Fletcher's

Fletchers seems to have the same bands play there over and over again.

*sigh*
I see that the Futureheads will be at 9:30 club on Feb. 21. That's a score too.

fletcher's never seems to have anyone decent anymore…about 5 years ago i saw boss hog there and a few other really good bands played. who's doing booking for that place anyway?
I saw Twilight Singers at Fletchers last year and The Darkness played there randomly at some point in '03, but I think that the ottobar (which is bigger) is more consistently booking the national acts that they would have gotten. Their schedule now is very balto-local oriented.

I was at that show, too! :) I managed to run into someone who attended my undergrad alma mater,a really drunk guy who knew me from the Afghan Whigs mailing list and two girls who I joined on a roadtrip to the show in Philadelphia the following night. Good times.
