Will somebody please declare a national vacation period between the first two weeks of October!? And I mean one that all employees get, not just Government employees.

Note: All except venue employees who will get theirs' the following two weeks in order to tend to the shows and then recover.
You will finally get to see how hard she sucks.

Excellent! I had heard she was opening on some of the dates. I saw her in Philly a few months back and she was great.

that's the one album i bought this year that i regretted immediately.

sounds more like Sheryl Crow to me.

if anyone wants it - paypal me .87 cents:
.50 for the music + stamp
When Lucinda Williams WAS young, she was playing straight up blues, not watered down country-rock.

Perhaps I was just turned off from the first time I saw her, at Bumbershoot. After being given a nice introduction by the dj from the radio station that was sponsoring the stage she was playing on, she promptly took the stage and flipped the dj the finger. Nice gal.

She just strikes me as playing a role, rather than being the real thing.

are you talking about "failer"?

there's more genuine emotion in one verse of that album than sheryl crow's career … just saw that she has a new album, don't have that yet

fair enough, i only really know her through her debut LP (which i obviously really like), not the hype in the alt-country world … but that kind of fakeness pisses me off too

and i should have been more specific, kathleen's debut LP reminds me of lucinda's s/t LP (not her late 70s stuff)
Where have you been? Her new album has been out for over five months.

I did buy Failer for $1 at the CD Game Exchange, hoping it would grow on me. It didn't.

Her most prominent emotion is whining. She's a fucking whiner. And nobody enjoys a whiner. Probably why people sometimes get sick of me on here.

well, i'm clearly not plugged into the alt-country world … "hockey skates" and "six o'clock news" are fantastic songs, and i find them "melancholy", not "whiny" .. but to each to his own …

I was referring to this one:
<img src="http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/drg600/g669/g66970xbvry.jpg" alt=" - " />

Which is generally considered to be at least as "good" as the debut
