Just Announced

was wondering what happened to brian Henneman, so looked like he and the bottle rockets were poised to do well with Alt-country
but they kinda got left in the dust

an update was made…and likely no one noticed

2021
On March 2, 2021, the band announced its retirement, for reasons as posted to its public Facebook account: "It’s with a sad heart that we announce this uneasy news: Brian has decided to retire from the Bottle Rockets. Although he’s in good health, he’s been feeling the passage of time and has lost interest in anything that distracts from or takes him away from home. Unfortunately, this means the Bottle Rockets can’t continue as we know it."[47]
Well I am not picking sides..Tweedy is the main guy…but Jay contributed..he wasn’t frickin parsley 🌿 or something like people think…Wilco will be celebrating 20th of YHF with box..you think they will be releasing Jay mixes? No. That was the follow up to summerteeth!

I wish I had gone to the Iota show but not sure I even knew about it…I feel like I was taking a step back from concerts..traveling for work

I do not have that conflict.
Actually, Brian Henneman's retirement was discussed on the Wilco fans Facebook group. Vas is a member, and it looks like Shemp is too.
The Bottle Rockets had become Birchmere regulars, both as the Bottle Rockets and as Marshall Crenshaw's backing band. I hadn't seen them in years due to my Birchmere aversion, but wish they had done a farewell tour.

I don't think exclamation points indicate existential dread the way you seem to think they do.

Speaking of Wilco… have a nice air bb about 10/15 miles from Solid Sound that I won't be using. Feel free to PM if you'd like a link to it, super affordable and nice.

I'm going to cancel it Friday.

Why did you decide to cancel? Not liking the lineup (do people typically book the lodging before the lineup is announced?), or other personal reasons?

Lots of reasons for not going (premptively eager to see live music, thought it would potentially be a fun family thing (nah), too many other Yada trips in the near future, etc) and booked early due to the limited accomodations around there for the festival and it's fully refundable… obviously.

Further to Yada's info above, Space - this is a must book once show dates are announced, not a wait for lineup type event.
