I think Hutch said Ian's voice was shot and he would never see them live again even with a Space level ticket
I was there, it was horrid, but I think he was ill?

Can confirm. This was the 9:30 show, correct? I left after the first set. It was atrocious.
Yup. It was disgraceful that they didn’t either reschedule or cancel. Done with Ian McCullough.
Imp workers are voting to unionize 930, anthem, atlantis and lincoln.

whoa, somewhat surprising as I thought they treated the staph better than most orgs
I'm pro union, but typically they arise from shitty conditions

Employees emphasized that their movement stems from a desire to preserve and improve venues that are central to the city’s creative community, rather than from hostility toward management.
Unions are not an indication of a poor working condition or bad management. As a child of UAW country, that’s such a wild view. It’s about equalizing the social contract between employer and employee.
can you write that post in the JA thread ;)
I do agree with your take, I still think they form more in situations where the conditions are very bad for the workers
maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like to see evidence to the contrary

the United Auto Workers (UAW) union was formed largely in response to poor working conditions, low wages, and lack of job security in the early U.S. auto industry during the 1930s

I think they were able to stick around and work cooperatively with management on the principal you stated, but I think that is often the second act of unions

I am pro union, but I will admit, I am fairly ignorant on the topic overall and am happy to receive an education
As a child of two public school teachers in NY, we led a very middle class lifestyle that teachers of the past never did.  before the teachers union, they basically lived in poverty and there was no safety net
IMP venues may be fine but other venues may be hellholes to work in. I see IMP employees as working in solidarity with others.
