Screaming Females St. Stephens show canceled. Wonder if DIY shows issue refunds if all the other bands are still slated to play. Guessing no.

Citizens Arrest featuring Ted Leo are replacing them. Guess I will go.

Ugh.

Our country could use many more like Ted who believe we ought to follow the constitution (and who are also not afraid to say what needs to be said about the powers that be).  Wish I could afford a ticket and the drive.  Should be a good show.
You are so hilariously predictable.

Me?  Thank you.  I am glad that I am predictable as one who believes in our country following the constitution.  That is a very honorable thing!  However, that is not why I would want to go see Nugent.  I pick the shows I want to see based on whether I care for the music being played.
quick, let's all start talking about politics.
I thought we were talking about ratbastard's predictably bad taste in music.

$99 for 2-day pass presale on now.  password is synonymous with "watery beer"…

Me thinks Jay Z needs a geography lesson as Miike Snow, Afrojack, and Calvin Harris aren't on Team America.
I'm sure the Nuge could take one of their spots.

i don't understand rap music live.  i think it sounds awful live, no matter who is doing it.  or is that just me?

Seems like a step down from headlining the Club.  What is the capacity difference?

They are purposely doing small clubs as a warm up. Would be nice if ticket info were available like where to buy, when to buy and price.

Jay Z is pretty good live.  At least he plays with a full band, while some rappers just sing over a backing track.
;D

I mostly agree but there are a few needles in that haystack. Mos Def, The Roots, Common and Wu Tang come to mind. Wu Tang will keep you waiting a few hours but they deliver when they finally arrive.

I wonder if he's got the goods live… well I guess its a moot point anyways.. I ain't paying $70
The G-Side show at DC9 last year was phenomenal, as was Ardemus' opening set. It's the kind of show I wish people who think live hip-hop sucks could have seen because everything about it was right on.

For the most part, I think people who say live hip-hop sucks just dont' really like hip-hop that much. A rap show can be just as good and exciting as any rock band. Plenty of rock bands have to deal with shitty sound but who cares because it's awesome and it roars.

Jay Reatard's set on the backstage at BC sounded like mud, but it was incredible because they rocked the fuck out. Odd Future's set at U St had the acoustics of a jackhammer but it didn't matter because it was exciting as hell. You're not going to get the fidelity of some hippie and an acoustic singing about his period and that's fine with me. Some rap artists/bands can bring it live, some can't. No different from any genre.

Meanwhile I can't tell you how excited I am about seeing Killer Mike and Mr. Motherfuckin Exquire (opening for El-P) in July.
you explain things . . . the way i like things explained.  welcome back.
