Nice. I'm really digging the new album. Local H do not disappoint live.

The metal line up isn't all that great, imo.  A few good bands but not enough to draw me in  for $40 or so per night.

Not even Down? haha. We don't really know what bands will play what days. It is like 8 months away haha. Pulls like SLEEP, The Obsessed and Ufomammut are pretty huge and certainly rare. Seeing Pentagram with probably a whole new line-up will be cool too. I just hope no one cancels! Fat chance I know…

I see what you did there.  ;) Yeah, Down's 1st album is pretty great.  Nothing since then has been all that good, though.

I'd love to see Sleep and Obsessed but will not pay ~$40 for it.  Every year they get a few rarities on the line up.  I wanted to see Godlfesh at the last one but didn't make it out there, unfortunately.

I will definitely mull over the hardcore show, though.  Been wanting to see a few of those bands for a while now.
Purity Ring (with Young Magic)

14th January - Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club
15th January - Baltimore, MD @ Ottobar

I thought they were excellent at RNRH last month.  I know some people really didnt feel it, but i personally thought it was great.  It helps to be able to watch him play his lantern/sampler set up, with different sounds and lights triggering off of hits.  It is almost like he plays a light up, homemade electronic drum set.  It was really captivating, but I was in front of the stage (close enough i could have been smacked with the sticks), so i had a great perspective on it. i usually wouldnt go see a band so close to seeing them, but this time I will definitely be at one of those two shows.

From Kickstarter e-mail:

"Dag Nasty (and their original "Can I Say" lineup of Shawn Brown, Brian Baker, Roger Marbury, and Colin Sears)

Government Issue

Black Market Baby

Kingface

and special guests!

This is a night to celebrate the filming of "Salad Days" and the enduring legacy of these bands and this fine city!

Tickets on sale soon."

In case you weren't paying attention, these shows quietly went on sale yesterday with limited online availability.  The first night is sold-out.  The second night may or may not have tickets still available at the box office only.

There was an email that said it was a presale, but the Cat's website says "Sold Out".

hrmph.

Agreed. Except I do like that "New Orleans is a Dying Whore" song.
