Don't exclude Oceansize.

Though not my kind of music, if you like harder rocking music like McClusky, you should love Oceansize. They are a Manchester band very much in the same genre as McClusky, The Cooper Temple Clause, The Music, and dare I say this, kind of like The Darkness without spandex. Well, in plain clothes, not naked. (Mank, not your scene; so don't be too bothered by the hometown brood.)

As I've said, not my thing but they are good enough that I might enjoy their set just for the evening's entertainment. In other words, get your asses there early enough for the openers!
damn! they really really want me to go this year. please come on a weekend…

Oh cool! I've been wanting to see Oceansize live. Some songs sound average but others really rock out. And McLusky…hell yeah!!

I have tickets for that show, which now I regret a bit as the Long Winters and Decemberists are playing the 9:30 Club that night.

The Madonna tour, as did the Prince tour, added the second show *during* the sale of the original date. Sneaky new tactic, eh?
I remember you mentioning you had tix. Too bad about the timing.
Hey Bags - did you see this?:

Velvet Lounge:
th 22 Martin Royle and Olivia Mancini of Washington Social Club playing solo
(acoustic, I think)

Same night as Sleater-Kinney, but you could probably make both, since SK is an early show.
I did see that, Skeeter. And it's definitely do-able. My only worry is that I'm headed to NYC on Friday, and have plans every night this week, so may need to get home and pack after S-K… However, a friend of mine is definitely going and chances are he'll talk me in to it… Are you thinking of hitting the acoustic gig?
Yeah - We'll be there. Skipping SK though.
