I think I remember reading that Kurt Wagner was touring as Lambchop sans the rest of the band. If that's true, it could explain the backstage venue.
I also seem to remember reading on this very board that some of their previous Black Cat shows were sparsely attended, though perhaps I've confuded them with someone else.

I'm guessing it's with the full band (which now seems to be a bit smaller than in their heyday, don't think they had any horns on their new album). Right now only a few dates in the mid-West have been announced by the band or Merge, but they say they're full band. The BC show wasn't included, but would be surprised if the lineup changed for the East Coast. I guess backstage is kind of a surprise cause it looks like they're playing the Bowery in NYC a few days later and Johnny Brenda's too. I guess people appreciate good music more up there.

Please, they could have charged $500 a ticket easy for Jay-Z and sold out. still not happy that it's being rented.
Anyway, can't you buy them at the box office or through livenation.com to avoid ticketmaster's fees?
