Just Announced

I have not checked out that venue yet, but I believe it has a stamp of approval from azaghal1981 and that is a good enough cosign for me to also want to check it out.

Edit: That show also features King Woman…

Interesting…opened up next to NorthSea at the top of 18th

Our venue ? lovingly referred to as "The Byrd Cage" ? is the new premiere space to experience live music in Adams Morgan. Featuring a state of the art sound system designed by ITI Audio and a funky basement vibe, it has a standing room capacity of 200+ and a seated capacity of up to 100. The venue hosts international, national and local artists, from live performers to DJs, as well as other live performance art forms.

why didn't stuff like this exist when I lived right around the corner
Bossa was always fun and Madams on a Tuesday was great, but there was no good 'indie' stuff
just a bunch of lame bars that catered to the bridge and tunnel crowd

man…they almost had me on 4/8

4/8 - FREE *** Beer and Bluegrass Night at SONGBYRD w/ Victory Beer

to be clear…admission is free…you have to pay for the Victory beer

I was going to joke and say Columbia but that joke would only fly with Bioshock Infinite fans.
he or someone else said to me that the sound at songbyrd sucks

Songbyrd sound definitely has issues.
It's not noticeable on the floor but bands clearly have problems hearing each other.
For some reason, they can't seem to get the monitors right.
It's a little like The Pinch in that it's a basement with a bar/restaurant upstairs.

Oh yeah, now I remember the conversation we had… I will definitely check it out for Wax Idols.
