Intentions behind reunions are typically evident. Pavement, Pixies and Soundgarden reunions, for instance, are obvious cash grabs. I think there is more to the Dinosaur Jr., Mission of Burma and Swans reunions, though. The three latter bands have all released material on par with their older stuff and are consistently still fantastic live acts.

Having seen dinosaur jr before lou barlow rejoined the band and j mascis solo I have to say the reunited dinosaur jr was 100 times worse.  The Pixies "doolittle" shows were bad.  Pavement was boring.  But bands should reunite if they want to for whatever reason.  I mean as long as it isn't a Smashing Pumpkins type reunion.
Charm City Fest
Weezer, Flogging Molly, Stephen Marley, Southern Culture on the Skids, Eve 6
Local bands: All Mighty Senators, Jah Works, Ballyhoo and Loving the Lie.
Harbor Point (Fells Point area)
September 15th.

terrible lineup really.

Does anyone know if there is a virgin fest this year?
Could not disagree more on the reunited Dino.
I want to go to there! The other night at Floristree was a good time. Been years since I saw Nautical Almanac and the other three acts who I had not heard of prior were all good. Show did end at 2:30 though which meant no work for me the next day.

Ill probably do the Floristree show, if I can telework the next day. 230 AM end time?  Damn.

Only four acts too. I couldn't stop thinking about how that could never go over well in DC.

That in DC they would want more than 4 acts or the show ending at 2:30? When I have been to the Floristree there haven't been that many people there for the last act.
There were still a good 100 people left for Nautical's set. I doubt there would be more than 10 people left at a show in DC at 2:30 on a weeknight.

Big & Rich to take the place of Dierks Bentley in free NatsLive Post-Game Concert

The Nationals regretfully announce that Dierks Bentley will be unable to play his previously scheduled June 2 concert at Nationals Park due to a serious illness in his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dierks and his family during this difficult time.

Fans who purchased tickets to Saturday?s Nationals-Braves game will now be able to enjoy a performance by country superstars Big & Rich in the first free NatsLive Post-Game Concert of the season. Known for the hit singles ?Lost in This Moment,? ?Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy),? ?Wild West Show,? ?Comin? To Your City? and ?8th of November,? Big & Rich have sold more than five million albums. The three-time Grammy Award nominees will release their new album Hillbilly Jedis later this year.

The concert is free to fans who have a valid ticket for Saturday?s Nationals-Braves game.
