When was their last DC show? 2006?!?

Actually 2008 at DAR
WTF did DC do to these guys? DC used to be a very regular stop
Even when they hit DC, their setlists were shitty compared to other cities (including Baltimore).

Huh?

Well that’s like your opinion but I don’t think they played Baltimore all that much?!?

Every show I saw the set lists and shows were great…like 35 songs..Always 930

I missed the DAR show

I wonder if they got blacklisted by IMP

Only thing that makes sense
Geaner did solo shows here (birchmere for Billy joel and RNRH for Freeman)
Deaner played otto and BC with DWG
but yes ween (and the hold steady) doesn't think DC is a worthy location
so annoying

We did get ween at Pier 6 in 2017 and that was a good show
Given that I've seen them a zillion times, I generally judge Ween shows by the rare shit they perform to spice up the setlists.  From my recollection, they've played Baltimore 3 times that I've seen them.  Sonar maybe 11 years ago (before I had kids), Rams Head Live (maybe 10 years?0 and Pier Six a few years ago, and each time, those shows had way deeper cuts (Booze Me Up & Get Me High, Did You See Me, Mushroom Festival, etc) than the corresponding DC show.

Was curious as I could have sworn I've seen some of these live
BMU&GMH - 135 live plays - never in DC (lots of close locals Richmond/Charlottesville/balt/rehobeth)
DYSM - DAR 08  and DeanWeenGroup -930 2015 –me and about 50 others were there
MF - never dc

I missed that Sonar show in 2005 …as I moved to SF, but that is quite a reminisced show from my brownkrew and quite a setlist
Yeah, I left off the solo/DWG shows out of principle, but they had some deep cuts too.  TBH, the fan base has kind of bummed me out on Ween so I can't say I'd be too excited for a show nowadays.  That said, I'm pretty anti full album shows, but with these guys, it seems like a bad ass way to see some rare shit.  Kills me they played Old Man Thunder when they did GWS live back in 2001.
I don’t need deep cuts or 30 minute mushroom jam into hell

This is not a jam band

I like the great songs….I don’t mind hearing that’s what deaner was talking about every few years or bananas and blow or your party or Buenas tardes or whatever

I can’t see how anyone can have complaints about the 35 song three hour sets they used to play at 930 but that’s just me

I saw them at recher, Richmond and Bethany beach and cannot say those shows had anything on DC…in fact both Richmond and Bethany had those annoying 30 minute jam into hell thingies which essentially killed the show

I also have no idea what NKOTB is referencing.

The 04 and 05 930 club shows were absolute peak Ween.

DAR, while a terrible booking was a fun show as well.

Their rarities aren't even really rarities any more considering they've become a gimmick of their former selves and play rarities nightly.

Until Aaron and Deaner can get over their complete public disdain for each other, I won't travel to see them again.

Ok, maybe "shitty" was harsh.  I do agree those shows were all fun (I mean, I haven't missed an area show since 94 I don't think), but in the last decade and a half, more times than not, setlists immediately before or after DC had way cooler shit.

Also, if someone doesn't want to hear a 30 minute version of Mushroom Festival In Hell, I'm sorry they have no joy in their life!

TIL I have no joy in my life.
Honestly, if I recall it was MAYBE 11 minutes and combined Licking the Palm for Guava and Mushroom Festival.  Who's the fool now????

I have no idea which 30 minute songs they played…I just think they kill the momentum and take up the space of 7 songs so we can see smoke machines and total wanking off…so boring

As far as I am concerned the 930 shows were epic…I was always at them with a lot of friends and we loved them

Then it just came to a grinding halt for DC

The “reunion” at pier 6 was fun but not the same

I would see them again if they come to DC

honestly, Joy isn't that hot.  A 5-6 at best.  You are fine without Joy.

Particularly considering listening to Ween is a -13 so at best, even with joy, I'm underwater 7 or 8 on the entire endeavor.
