What?  My info isn't legit enough? HAHA :P
No Baltimore show announced yet but there's a lot of open dates between the 11/4 DC show and the 11/11 Toronto show (pulled the schedule from David Yow's FB page)
What's the current Helmet lineup?

Based on last year's Helment show, it will be Page Hamilton and a bunch of young hired guns.

In case there are any other Irish folk music fans, I hadn't seen this mentioned:

Andy Irvine
10/17/11
St. Mark Presbyterian Church
Rockville, MD

Between learning about Andy Irvine, Scratch Acid, and seeing the Phantogram date on the Black Cat site while looking for info on the Scratch Acid show, it's been quite a few hours of show news.
RustyOrgan - I catch Helmet on just about every East Coast tour (since 92). The current line-up are some young talent out of New York. I saw them play at Sonar last year and they put on a great quality set. I saw that line-up again at Jaxx and they weren't as impressive (but I think that was because they put their all into playing "Meantime" in-full and were exhausted for the later non-Meantime part of the set).

I'll hit the BC show and am expecting it to be more like the Sonar show.

Scratch Acid is the most unexpected announcement I've seen in a while.

I had amazing seats for his recent show at Lisner, then I heard his really bad new reggae album and promptly sold my tix.

I forgot all about this.

Edit: I see that this is in the foyer of the Kennedy Center.  No idea how many people they can accommodate, though.

SUCK IT, NYC!!!  DC NUMBER ONE!  DC NUMBER ONE!  (along with Carrboro…)
I just hope the DC crowd is not as painfully lame and small as the most recent DC Jesus Lizard crowd.

How the hell is this not at the club or at least the cat?

Are the Raincoats not as big as I am thinking?

big? depends on what you mean by "big"?

never more than a very fringe cult band..of course they should have been BIG.

big in influence if only because of cobain (and courtney)/kim gordon

glad they are coming to dc..i'll be there assuming no catastrophe.

does one buy tickets online for comet? never been there (added: for a show that is)..

actually have their first album but the original issue does not have the excellent single that was tacked on to the cd..

This show has tickets available online:

I have an extra (Sonic Circuits conflict) if anybody still has yet to buy a ticket to this. Printable. Can email. $20.

and HR goes acoustic:

please clue me in . . . is hr worth it nowadays?  i loved him.  i love bad brains.  i love some of hr's solo material.  but that was a long time ago.  i don't even listen to dinosaur jr anymore, and where i'm from, that is reason for removal from the club.

I don't know how helpful this info, but the Bad Brains show at the club in 2008 (election night, I think) was about the worst show I've ever seen, largely due to HR.
Man that show sucked.

Like, really sucked.

Like insulting sucked.

I heard HR has been really hit or miss (mostly miss) since then.
