Okkervil River is now sold out. I shouldnt have slept on tickets.
I can only hope they come back to DC in the spring, and play a venue that's in NW.

I was so pissed when I saw this. I didn't think it would sell out,

God dammit. I fail at concert tickets.

Don't be surprised to see him add Nov. 12th at Verizon.
i was just thinking about that: this is a relatively sparse tour schedule for one of the hardest working bands in R'n'R today - adding more dates seems almost certain, IMO. i wonder if he'll try selling out meadowlands six nights in a row again… over half the dates on the schedule are ripe for additional shows.
not only should you not be surprised by a second show, i'd be willing to bet on it. any takers?

there will be a second show in philly - check out the top right corner of the seat map that wachovia center put together especially for this show… looks like someone forgot to tell the graphix dept to keep the second date under wraps :)

so, with two days of availability after his announced 11/11 show in DC, i say there is a good chance that they'll add another show at verizon.
Also, even before the dates were announced to the public, "Surf" from 94.7 kept telling everybody he knew the dates but couldn't announce them yet, but expect a date or TWO in November.

C'mon, really? You only like to go to shows in NW DC?
I never saw this posted, but maybe I missed it:

There are only really crappy tickets left in the back of the tiers. Unfortunately. I just realized I could go last week and was too late on tickets.
10/24/07
The Avengers/Pansy Division

Lo-Fi Social Club
Baltimore
That's funny…the last time I saw WS (smith center) the Cobras were playing the same night at Iota. I rushed over to the Cobras show after and thought they totally put the WS to shame.

So you'd go to the Detroit Cobras over White Stripes? Interesting – as I saw the Cobras with Cheap Trick, I'm keeping my W.S. tickets!

Luckily I have Izzard tickets for Monday! But a friend can go both nights, and he's in a real quandary over B&S.

What are you gonna do?

Might have a pair in Center Section, Row G at face, if my lady friend can't make it. PM me if interested.

Well, no. I just think getting to the rock n roll hotel without a car is a pain in the ass. Especially on a Sunday night.
Looks like the Damo Suzuki/Kohoutek show was moved to 10/22 according to the velvet lounge site.

I could've sworn it was listed as being on 10/23 before.

Does this look right? If so, it's gonna be a long night.

Monday, October 22nd
Damo Suzuki (of Can!) w/ Kohoutek, (The Sounds of) Kaleidoscope, Carlos Giffoni/John Wiese/Burning Star Core

To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic 'LIVE AFTER DEATH' and 'MAIDEN ENGLAND' concert videos (more details coming soon) this tour, aptly entitled 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME', will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the 80's in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 'Powerslave Tour'. This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.

An Evening with Frank Stallone
Seldom has a performer been strongly considered for an Academy Award in both acting and music, yet Frank Stallone has managed to pull it off. His fiery portrayal of a brutish bartender Eddie in the film Barfly had Hollywood insiders abuzz at Oscar time, and his #1 hit Far From Over, from the film Staying Alive, was likewise touted for a 'Best Song' nomination. Itâ??s all in a dayâ??s work for Frank a gifted artist who is equally comfortable on screen or on the concert stage.
This Grammy and Golden Globe nominated artist has been everything from a street singer, a rock singer, to a big band singer. Frank was also nominated for a Grammy for best soundtrack and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song from the film Staying Alive. Frank has written songs for 11 films, and still plays to SRO crowds in arenas and concert halls from Los Angeles to London.
