Just Announced

Markie failed in his effort to try and snub me. However, you made me question if I actually have seen them live.

So I'll ask. Did they close the DC101 Andrew WK show at the Black Cat? All I remember from that show is lots of beer, Andrew WK, and Markie and Poorlulu admitting they were married.

Looks like everyone's kicked a goal. Man, the Lost Prophets had a tough act to follow.

Indeed! Actually Andrew WK played first despite the billing, then erm, almost everyone left before the Prophets got 2 songs in.

How do you remember stuff like that?
It probably has to do with that fact that GGW wasn't drunk.

I forgot it was the night we all met. Arghghgh, just brought a tear to my eye.

But GGW wasn't there was he? I cannot remember support bands from shows I was at, let alone shows I didnt attend.
Nah, we were lucky. He opened for them at the Black Cat on the MTV2 tour. Thankfully, he was busy signing autographs (500 words and 20 minutes for each, if I remember correctly), so we were spared. Although Thirsty stayed up near the stage and moshed his balls off.

I was there. Apparently I made quite a first impression on you.

If I recall correctly, you mocked me for wearing a button-down.
Am I wrong in remembering that you were mocked for drinking glass-bottled spring water as well?

You are correct.

Now I'm getting a complex…..

Shit, you were there. I had completely forgotten, sorry. What I dont understand is, if you went to that show, how come you have not been to every subsequent A WK show?
A sweet moment that might never be matched again. Some hot blonde girl gave me her signed ticket. It smells like daisies.

From what I recall, GGW was there to see if AWK was really his long lost brother. As you can tell, they share a similar initial. After the shenanigans of that concert I'd bet that GGW washed his hands of the event and any blood ties.

it's beginning to feel like old times on the board.. it's so 2002 right now
Scheduling, scheduling, scheduling.

I didn't feel like driving to the Recher show. Then I was out of town, and I had theatre tickets for the night of his most recent gig.

If anyone has a lot of money to burn, TicketMaster released some floor seats for the Madonna shows this weekend.

Be warned - a pair of tickets is gonna cost about $650, but that includes the very reasonable $25/ticket convenience charge.

Yikes.
According to this BBC article, that "internationally known rock group" will be INXS.

Neither Burnett nor his business associate and production collaborator, Conrad Riggs, were talking Monday, but industry insiders said Burnett is readying an edgier version of "Idol" focusing on rock music. But rather than finding the next Fantasia or Clay, the Burnett skein will search for a crooner who could step in as the lead singer of an existing, internationally known rock group.

yeah - what a shock. Disappointing though. I was looking forward to that one.

Britney Spears is apparently cancelling her summer tour too, due to a knee injury. I'm not buying that excuse. As of about 2 weeks ago, you could still buy 8 seats together in something like 15th row center at Nissan. Poor ticket sales is a better guess why she cancelled.
im sure britney could have thought of a better excuse though. having a cast then brace on my leg for 6 months last year was no fun.. i couldnt imagine anyone would want to wear a hard cast just to back out of a tour. especially in the summer time.
looks like Neil Finn tickets go on sale tomorrow, and it will actually be The Finn Brothers, could be a pretty good show
