Not sure if I hate him more for that or for Bat For Lashes.

He wanted to see Black Pus who opened as did I.

We left shortly after Ratatat went on because we both realized how horrible they were almost immediately.

P.S. I think that was the same night Little Pete from Pete and Pete's jamband were in town. I tried to talk him into stopping by on the way out of town for a few laughs (he was my ride) and he had none of it.

I saw them at their first show at Black Cat. That was awesome. Then saw them at the first VFest and then 930 Club. They got a lot of mileage out of that first album. 2nd album came out and I lost all interest. I was thinking to myself "How are they releasing a new album?" and "How the hell are they playing the Lincoln Theatre?" Isn't that place semi-big?

I saw that BC Wolfmother show too. Psychic Ills opened and the show's date was 6/6/06! It was the original line up of the band before the singer got egomaniacal and fired everyone else. They totally sucked after that happened and the whole world pretty much lost interest in them.

I noticed some opening band announcements at DC9:

Yep! I have poster hanging on my wall and it was signed by the whole band! I think I was walking down R St and saw them hanging out behind the club and they signed my poster. It was cool.

How novel!

I'm really unenthused for Colbert; I really don't care for his schtick.

I would have liked Craig Ferguson to get it, or some wildcard like Joel McHale or Seinfeld. Even Chelsea Handler. Colbert and Stewert have always struck me as very broad comedy for idiots who want to get their news in 20 second joke-bites.

I like both Colbert and Stewart, but you're on the money. They're for people who are bored by the way regular news and current events is traditionally presented. If they're packaged around jokes, it's palatable.
