Over a year ago, a friend of mine who works for a local venue told me that Astley's people looked into booking him there but were declined. He said that Astley had never toured the states so he had no track record. I guess the requested guarantee was too damn high. The 9:30 show is $35. At that price it would have sold out the other venue.
