In 1976, The Slickee Boys released their first EP, "Hot and Cool," an event documented by members of the new wave community as the third punk/new wave record ever recorded. Founding members Marshall Keith and Kim Kane, along with long-time members Mark Noone, Dan Palenski, and Mike Maxwell perform at Strathmore.

CONCERTS ARE FREE and take place outside at the Gudelsky Concert Pavilion at Strathmore. Please, no dogs allowed and bring a blanket or low beach chair. Food is available for purchase on-site from Oâ??Brienâ??s BBQ and Ben & Jerryâ??s. Patrons are encouraged to take Metro to the Grosvenor-Strathmore station on the Red Line. Parking is available for a fee at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage and along Tuckerman Lane. Accessible parking is available on-site on a space available basis.

Once again, I am surprised that a band like this is booked at the 9:30 Club rather than somewhere smaller. Do many people in the US know The Delays yet?

Maybe you and I and a few other people but for the most part, I doubt it.

They definitely seem more opener material than headliner. Better yet, Backstage at the Black Cat. Sorry to say that I'm not all that impressed with them. Good for a song or two and then they wear out fast. Really fast.
i agree with jag on this a friend who loves them sent me the cd, ive played it several times i still only like one song, abit like the delgados and alot like the carpenters :eek:
Yeah, I have mixed feelings about the Delays, too. I listened to the tracks a while ago so I can't remember specifically why they didn't grab me. I guess I will see what the ticket price is and who they are playing with.
