Just Announced

whoa, whoa, whoa . . . $125 face for seal?  are you kidding?  your kiss from a rose ain't that freaking sweet.  and the tickets have been on sale for three days and i still can pull fourth row.  and you're at merriweather.
He needs to write another Kiss from a Rose.  System was ok, but I couldnt see it getting him big again.  His newest one of soul covers was just not needed.

Wasnt the last time he was around, he performed while Disney on Ice skated (or something equally absurd)?
King Khan and the Shrines
4/29
930
wow…khan has stepped it up bigtime going from the red and black to 9:30
DC gets King Fucking Khan, and Baltimore gets Band of Horses. I should have never moved away from Baltimore…

June 10, the Norva
June 11 New York data
June 12, Rams Head Live
June 14, Bonaroo

Why are the Norva and RHL siphoning away all the good 9:30 type shows?

Rams Head Live's shows are now being (mostly?) booked by IMP.

he was quite a good show last year.  or was that 2 years ago.

either way, he had a good 7000 people there. but mostly on the cheaper Lawn.
Would IMP make more money from a RHL show than a 9:30 Club?

If it will help you sleep at night, the last Band of Horses show was a total snoozefest.

Where was the "last" show? I was them at Bumbershoot in Sept. Their new stuff was quite good, I thought.

Well, i would think that there are more bands touring than nights available at 930 club. Some shows (like Mos Def) are booked at both venues.

Its possible BOH are playing on a night that 930 already has someone booked or being booked. Also, if Seth is booking both venues, he may not want to make RHL simply 930 overflow, and give them some good shows too

At the end of the day though, Rams Head Live holds more people than 930 Club, so i suppose if they sold out it would be more profitable.  Then again, Seth may make more money in general at a 930 show seeing that its his club (i.e. making money from the bar , perhaps).

930 still has (and probably always will have) better shows overall!
If they thought BOH was a snoozefest, I can only imagine what they'd think of Leonard Cohen.  ;)

how dare she!!!  i have been trying to catch her for years, and have always been out of town when she performs.  what is this . . . an awesome band puts out an album called mpp and now everyone wants to play there.  what's next, the new flaming lips album called "9:30"?
they've had bands and acts playing there for like 30 years now. almost every summer!

and your Lips reference doesnt make quite as much sense as AC are from the area and the Lips are from……well, Oklahoma!

i don't make sense.  it would not make sense.  it's just that i find it strange that kathy would play there.  makes no sense.  and yes the flaming lips remark was stupid.  i should have said jill scott, but she only seems to play ten shows in a row at dar.
