Noisiest band to ever play MPP?
Are you certain this refers to the band Black Dice?
At Coachella, the visual show for Animal Collective, done by something called the Creator's Project, was called Black Dice. Websites for the band Black Dice don't have any info about them playing this show, so this might again refer to AC's visual presentation.

visuals titled Jumbletron, created by Black Dice.
not exactly sure what Black Dice will do for the Merriweather show, but they are listed as the openers.

LOL I thought you were talking about Alice Cooper!
azaghal, i plan on rolling into town right at 6 so i can see van wissem and metzger. metzger's set at the highwire gallery in philly last week was mesmerizingly good. it's great they're doing a dc show because both are musicians at the top of their game.
also, whoever is into psych-pop on this forum would be a fool to miss bobb trimble. his band was absolutely stunning tonight in philly. bobb and his female counterpart on vocals sound incredible together, and the musicianship is top-notch, especially the drumming. the songs are epic, dark and ominous like jefferson airplane circa-1968 crossed with shimmery paisley underground psych and a dose of classic '90s slumberland indie-pop. a couple tunes were so bittersweet i was thinking if trimble had any sort of break in the mid-'80s, he would have had a minor hit on his hands. bobb trimble/feelies make an excellent one-two punch of a weekend in dc.

Any idea why X isn't going to be at the 930? Ram's Head and the Birchmere (ugh) don't cut it. It would be great if they could slip a show in before the show on the 24th in Philly, but their contract with the Birchmere probably won't allow it.
