But seeing those bands at the Anthem will be an even more magical experience than the 9:30 club.
It does appear to be a much more friendly environment for aquatic mammals.

I was thinking it would be like cattle on a factory farm, only this farm is much larger.

it shall now appear, that all the bands that used to play the 930 club, now play the anthem.  soon, the 930 club will be the dc version of the state theatre.  leg, warmers anyone?

Actually …

Not a single show playing The Anthem would have played 930

We would have been forced to do them at DAR, Echostage, Patriot Center, etc

Now if you're sad about that I can't help you

T&S played 930 in November of 2016.  In 2017, now they are playing the anthem.  Hence, why I said bands that used to play the club will now play the anthem. If you can't remember that, I can't help you.

Wouldn't at least a few  of the Anthem shows have been "Surprise! At the Club!" shows in days gone by?
For those wondering what happened with our race… Space Freely passed me on the last lap (I do not finish well)…. while Walkie was taken to Betty Ford….

yeah.. many acts … Adele played 930 TWICE before Rolling in the Deep skyrocketed her to huge huge fame…

you know what I think . . . I'm all giddy as a school, girl, that seth just took the time to look my way and to speak to me.  he has a point, and so do i.  the anthem just killed the 930 star.

I think that plenty of bands still will be 930 bands on the way up, and some bands never grow enough to play the Anthem…and after playing the Anthem will play 930 on the way down.

Could the real casualty of the Anthem be the death of the Fillmore?  Because Anthem can outbid with so much more capacity?

I agree with you… the only caveat is that I find it hard to believe we will see the "Surprise at the club" type shows at the 930 of the same caliber.. I think this is already a trend though even before the Anthem was built… DC has become a much wealthier place.. more people going to more shows… so there are other factors as to why the 930 may not pull certain shows.. I mean can anyone imagine a "Surprise Paul Simon at the Club" show happening now? I don't see it…
