Haha, some of us don't travel to Philly just to see Ryan Adams! But I'd go if he does a DC show.

Some artists will use any excuse they can to keep their show at 40 minutes and cheat their audience.

Sorry, I've got a "dinner date" later with a dozen or so people where I'm going to have to be all smiles and sarcasm free. You guys get Mr. Hyde!

Originally posted by le sonick:Uggh, say it isn't so. The Patriot Center is hell on earth and frankly probably a bit too big. Not for their talent, but probably for the local fan base. And a Thursday on top of it! Philly bound. But I'm still glad others less picky have a chance to see them headline, they shouldn't have to open for ANYONE.

Originally posted by le sonick:well, if it's any consolation, they're playing philly the next night so you're free to trek up there (actually, considering that it's a friday and philly is probably closer for you than the patriot center, it would be the right choice for you anyways. also means more/better seats for me on the 9th :) )

Originally posted by bizou311®:Or, if they are generalizing by stating "Washington, DC" it could be at Patriot…or, who does Meyerhoff use?
maybe the lincoln theatre. i saw damien rice there back in december…excellent, yet intimate venue.

The Patriot Center is hell on earth
Originally posted by Bombay Chutney:My main problem is that it's in BFE, but it's also a sound killer. If you're lucky & careful you can find the sweet spot, but there are usually a bunch of teenage knuckleheads from the burbs that are occupying prime real estate. I think there's also an issue about being confined to pen to drink. It's flawed in many ways, though Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters, Bush, Travis, Smashing Pumpkins, and Prince were all decent shows I've seen out there. It's just not optimal, don't understand why Merriweather wasn't an option it has open dates, it is freakin August and would have been a hell of alot more convenient for the band as well as for me:)
