Just Announced

for those who don't want to travel to NJ (and really, who does?), Beck is also playing at the Tower in Upper Darby, PA (just outside of Philly). tickets still available on ticketmaster.
Ugh…The Tower is the most miserable venue I've ever been to. If you're going to see Beck, go to the loews and head into NYC afterwards. Upper Darby is a hole…And Philthy is, well…filthy.

Jersey…Proud to call it home! And it beats the hell out of living in DC! ;)
Cat Power is an early show!

This will be a full band show,
By full band, he means puppets. Lots and lots of puppets.
Neil Hamburger is opening for the D.

Are presale seats generally better than public sale seats?
Sweet! Wonder if both would be doable. No opener for Jamie Lidell as of now and I've been dying to see him for a while.

the majority of the time, in my experience, the answer is qualified no (especially when the presale is run through ticketmaster). if you're lining up to buy pre-sale tickets, you're expressing your desire to attend the show - so no need to sell the best seats, extra-keen super-fans will buy just about anything. there are some good seats available, but i've noticed a lot of chaff.

pre-sales run directly by the artists (i.e. their fan club) do tend to have superior seats.
Hold Steady, Black Cat, 11/25

Funny - I dreamt last night that they will play the Black Cat in November and it came true! :)

Anyone know when Cat Power tickets go on sale?
Man Man is the opener for the November 18 Jamie Lidell show at Webster Hall. Would be awesome if they came along to DC.

I hear Cat Power on sale tomorrow at 10 am? Anyone Know the ticket limit and price?
Yes, yes it would. It'd also mean that I won't have to go to baltimore for man man on 10/21.

Oh, very cool.

Has anyone seen him in the past several years? If so, is he still anything like he was back in the day?

Oh, wait a minute. I think I'm going to see someone tonight who saw him about around here about a year ago and interviewed him. (Unless I'm confussing the act with someone else.) I'll have to remember to ask.
