Thu July 26- THE COMAS, GREAT NORTHERN $10 Backstage 9:00 (on sale June 22)
Just Announced
Originally posted by lily1:Yeh, probably should have booked her at the black cat mainstage on the first go round. But I kinda like when the club is empty, seems like bands work their assess off for those there. Three shows come to mind, DIDO in 99 with like 15 people, BRMC whenever the storm came through, and Gene in 2002 with 50 people max… all stellar shows.
while i know this has been publid for several weeks, it must be selling really really poorly since they've added the "voice of the cranberries" bit. hahahaha.

THU. JUL. 12
$35.00
Originally posted by Greer Zoller:I'm also considering this. From a fansite, she does appear to play 7-8 Cranberries hits (opens with Zombie, Ode To My Family, Dreams, Linger, I Can't Be With You, Free To Decide, Analyze, etc.) a night. I have similar thoughts on the solo record though.
I've never seen the Cranberries…Yet, I highly doubt she will perform many of their songs & her solo stuff sounds a bit too pop for me.

It was weird being able to leave the front guard rail, walk to the men's room, get a drink at the bar, and return to the front guard rail without touching a single person. Try that at a Wilco show.

And those motherscratchers rocked it like they were headlining Knebworth. Bless'em.
I second that opinion of that Datsun's show. What's weird is that they played 9:30 again less than a year later, there were more people, and the show seemed kinda phoned in.
Originally posted by Julian, faux celeb-porn CONNOISSEUR:Wonder how her touring band is? Well, this information is interesting. (I figured only Zombie and Linger). I actually don't think she's a good fit for BC fresh out of the gate. Okay, so I'm probably in…

Kick me, but seeing Snow Patrol at the club with about 45 people, was a spectacular show. I've seen them since and it's not at all the same. (so much so, I have no need to see them live again)
Sun Sept 9- MEAT PUPPETS $15 Mainstage 8:00 (on sale June 29)
I do remember hearing about this reunion. I guess some touring is actually coming out of it. Never a mega fan but I could be convinced to head out.

If it hasn't been posted, I haven't seen it.

uh, YEAH! While I'm sure this isn't a real AWK show, it should be entertaining nonetheless. Man, he used to tour the DC/Baltimore area CONSTANTLY.
Miss P, have you seen him before?

Fri July 13- METROPOLITAN w/ special guests $10 Mainstage 9:00
Originally posted by nkotb:Yeah, this was exciting news until I read the part about him bring a special guest host and party starter. So you're right, it probably means not a true set, which is a damn shame. Those shows he did a few years ago were a HOOT

ok, that wasn't really all that insightful. loud louder loudest. to expected from post-skywave, who was pretty much the loudest band in the world. but definitely not just sheets of noise, they have songs and rock the three-piece as well as it can be done. they just opened for JAMC in new york, that's the band they get compared to the most, but as you can tell by my description above, they got a bit more going on. listen for yourself. my fave is "ocean".
i have seen him twice. however, both were festival shows. BUUUUT. with this news that it may not be a real live set, i'm sorta meh about the whole thing. plus it's $20.
who in the hell pays $20 for the rnr hotel?
