Sorry to hear, walkie. It's a painful thing to have happen. You did a great job by rescuing and caretaking of your cat for what sounds like a long and happy life. When I had to put my cat down (kidney disease) it was very sad but the nurse said she would be okay - happy to run and play outside in Kitty Heaven. I thought of that cat food commercial where the cat is running through the cartoon stream and grass with butterflies and birds. As corny as it is, it's kinda cute and comforting to visualize. Keep your chin up.
