They don't have hipster haircuts or wear hipster clothes.

i don't know dr. dog except for what's been said about them on here, but i am so happy the oranges band are actually playing in d.c. for once. will i have to buy tix in advance for this? didn't people say architecture in helsinki had an overflow crowd at dc9 last time around? i listened to both of their albums and thought they were way boring, but that sort of electro-tinged pop isn't my thing.

Dr. Dog is not very sexy, but unlike AC Newman, they do have stage presence.

yes, it was packed and the line to get in was around the block … i could say a lot of things about AIH, but "boring" wouldn't be one of them

if you find the thread about the DC9 show with Architecture in Helsinki, you'll see most posters saying they didn't like Dr. Dog

I think some people give them a jam band tag, which automatically means something negative.
Pitchfork also panned them, and most people here take pitchfork as the gospel truth.

yes, that does automatically mean something negative, but i can't see how the hell they'd be part of that scene … i see them as straight-up throwback 60s pop/rock … "Easy Beat" is just fantastic all the way through

If "most posters" can be defined as "two" then you are correct:

I believe Yutaka said that they "rock." So the score would be two-to-two.
While Yutaka may not have actually attended said show, we know that this does not make his opinion of the performance any less valid.

I did not attend said show, but had seen a Dr. Dog show prior to that one.

Easybeat's a good album. I wouldn't call it great though. Oranges and Dr. Dog aren't too popular are they? I'd really like to see both.

From bowieNet:
As previously hinted, (08.10.2005 RUMOUR: DB WITH ARCADE FIRE AT FASHION ROCKS?) David Bowie will play a 'special one off' with The Arcade Fire for Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in New York on September 8th.
David has confirmed that his own Five Years will be one of the songs performed with the band, and that he will also guest on their Wake Up.

What are you trying to say? I think Dr. Dog blew that night. That whole schtick with the hat and the sunglasses is lame. But generally speaking no one gives a fuck what i think on this board. I am looking forward to seeing AIH again. And the Oranges Band, still never seen them. I'll be hitting the red room for Dr. Dog though.

I was talking about Barcelona, silly. With impeccable, far ranging taste from the Pixies to the Talking Heads to Jonathan Richman to Arcade Fire, how could one really question his dislike of Dr. Dog?
