Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, who released Push the Sky Away and played a sold-out run of shows earlier this year (including three in NYC at Beacon Theatre), will embark on an 18 city tour in summer 2014 (mid June to early August). Tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, November 22, but look out for a special offer and more information on Monday (11/18). Meanwhile, cities (but not dates or venues) where the tour will hit are listed below.
If that list of cities is in order, it seems likely that they would play dc in late July or early August.

i don't think they will announce a wolftrap show that far in advance but perhaps… seems like a strange venue not to mention he has alwasy gone with Seth/IMP/930 every single time he has played in DC going back to at least the mid 1980s!!!!!!!

what i don't get is why jubilee street is not on the live album.. it was the highlight of his strathmore show! maybe they messed it up on KCRW..who knows..
Could Cave headline Merriweather?
Sinister Haze's first tour! These guys have a member of COUGH and Dry Spell within their ranks. They are a gritty Richmond version of Black Sabbath! If you like classic heavy psych and doom give 'em a chance!

11/20 Chesapeake VA @ Roger's (w/ Samothrace)
12/5 Baltimore MD @ Metro Gallery (w/Valkyrie & Fortress)
12/6 New York NY @ The Acheron (w/ Valkyrie)
12/7 Philadelphia PA @ Wolf Cycles (w/ Valkyrie)
12/8 Washington DC @ The Pinch
12/9 Charlottesville VA @ The Southern
12/10 Greensboro NC @ Hippo Records
12/11 Raleigh NC @ Slim's Downtown
12/12 Wilmington NC / Durham NC TBD
12/13 Charlotte NC @ The Milestone
12/14 Asheville NC @ The Odditorium
12/15 Johnson City TN @ The Hideaway
12/16 Lexington KY @ Al's Sidecare
12/17 Harrisonburg VA @ Blue Nile
12/18 Richmond VA Strange Matter

They are also playing a house show in Richmond tonight with Japanese serial killer metal band Church of Misery! If I didn't have to work and had a working car that is where I would be Friday night haha.

Wow I hate it when bands I like become successful.

And if they're horribly pretentious, that makes it even worse.

Or when they pick people based on their look and not on the waiting time to get to their shows. (Montreal this year).
Should go in the NYC thread but since you mentioned Priests,

Summer of 2014 is far but I should be there!

wow I wonder where they'll plaly in DC?

my favorite show of the year..

Mine too, thanks to Vas!
I don't know how those ushers at Wolftrap will handle the seething mob of rabid Nick Cave fans.  The ones at Strathmore pretty much disappeared by the third song.  In that case I would prefer Wolftrap to MPP.  I'm sure Seth has it all in order and we will be thrilled.
I cannot believe nobody announced this ..

Is DAR standing or seated?
Seated.
I think DAR is better for rock shows than Strathmore. I think I'll only go if I get the first 6 rows though.

Register for the Nick Cave pre-sale.  I got tickets for 2nd row at Strathmore this way.
