He is OK but not worth 228.50
Is Phosphorescent really that big now? I could be wrong but want to say he played Snailhook's old house once.

Played the R+R Hotel the last time in town, so I guess the next step up is Black Cat or the club?
Yeah that fucker has blown up, playing all the festivals

The last Phosphorescent show I saw over the summer was a snorefest.

Same for me.
I'm a fan of his records (a tribute album to Willie Nelson? How could I not be?)
Saw him open a free show this past summer for the Walkmen, and couldn't wait for him to get off the stage.

He plays incredibly slow folkie music, would you expect to have your face melted at one of his shows?

I wouldn't describe his music as "incredibly slow folkie music" .
More like mid-tempo Americana with shades of country.

for most concert-goers, especially on this board, he plays incredibly slow folkie music.

My original question stands firm, "he plays mid tempo Americana with shades of country," would you expect to have your face melted off?

I missed all tours in the last ten years, so I'll try to be at this one.

I'm pretty sure they will act as his backing band, as they have done many times before.
I'm totally stoked for this show.
