Make him a solid left mid-fielder and I'll get him a tryout with the United Academy..

Congrats!
Thanks to everyone for their warm wishes. Smackie I had to chuckle at your reference because I'd say at least 75% of my male friends upon finding out, alluded to him playing for either Ireland or Man U (and ideally both!!). Additionally, the neonatologist in charge of his care happens to be a soccer nut whose son in the starting goalie for Georgetown so right after he was born we had a 15 minute conversation about the wonderful game!

was he on this tour before? because he cancelled Lollapalooza as well. maybe he's sick. i love his new record.
Yeah, the Black Cat's site had Jim Noir listed with Jeremy Enigk not too long ago. Hold on a second…
Due to health difficulties, rising British pop artist Jim Noirâ??whose single â??Eanie Meanyâ? was featured on a recurring Adidas commercial during last monthâ??s World Cup tournamentâ??has been forced to cancel his North American tour scheduled from July 24 through Aug. 12.

With his debut album Tower of Love to be released Aug. 8, Noir is expected to retry his intended jump across the pond later this fall.
Good guess about him being sick. :)

did the 10/29 presale really sell out in 5 minutes (I checked around 4:10 and they were gone) or do you think they only released tix for the show that will probably have a lower demand? just curious…it seems odd one show would sell so fast when there are still tickets for the 30th left hours later.

I agree, it's odd. I don't know what the deal is.

There was a mix-up, and the tickets went on sale at 1pm EST instead of 1pm PST.
Widespread Panic kicked out it's lead guitarist, George McConnell last night.

If anyone remembers, their original lead guitarist died of pancreatic cancer in '02 and was replaced by McConnell immediately.

McConnell was a cheesey bar band hack that was friends with the band and completely brought the band down. Ticket sales plummetted and the band took a year hiatus to figure things out. The came back in 05 and McConnell sounded as bad as ever.

Rumors of his departure only grew at the beginning of the tour when producer John Keane (Athens, GA.) was added as an "extra" guitar player and Sam Holt (Lead guitarist for Ga. band Outformation and WSP guitar tech) was brought on as even ANOTHER guitar player at various times throughout their concerts this tour.

Last night's show in Louisville, KY there was no McConnell. Official announcement from the band coming.

On the lambchop website it now says that they will be backed by the Tosca Strings. They've been backing David Byrne on his past few tours. This show is going to be incredible
Lambchop will backed by the Tosca Strings QUARTET (four women). Tosca Strings is everyone (8 of them, I think)…

Lambchop said in an interview they were going to tour the US this time around with a full band; they usually do in Europe. The full version of Lambchop like 8-10 people.

This is indeed gonna be a good one…
I saw Lambchop in full band mode ten years ago in Chapel Hill, and they were boring.
