Yo La Tengo

after waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too long I hope to catch this.. last show I saw was them on their acoustic seated show for and then nothing turned… or what have you… I was not impressed with that show but dont know how I could have gone over a decade not seeing them
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Jefferson Theater
1-14

the show at U St Hall was so good…. I'm not much for roadtrips but this looks enticing..
My most vivid YLT show memory was seeing them in Cologne Germany the night Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode tried to commit suicide, and hearing Ira make a joke about it.

Of course, I could have heard it wrong, he wasn't speaking the native language.

Really not sure.  I don't think the last Girls show was a sellout, so unsure how well he'd do without that name recognition.  That being said, early reviews of his new material and first solo shows have been pretty favorable.  For $20 bucks, I'll give it a go.
That Nobunny set opening for them last time was pretty awesome.

take your jibber jabber to the commentary thread
Birchmere
Thu. Apr. 4: Former SNL Stars JON LOVITZ, TIM MEADOWS, & CHRIS KATTAN Live!
This is gonna be wacky. They should have added Ellen Cleghorne to beef up the bill though.
and drop jon . . . what a disgrace to comedy he is.
