Prepare to fucking, scream.
It is on Charles, in the Station North Neighborhood, in Baltimore.  Let's hang!

I love Metro Gallery.  It is in my top three favorite spots in Baltimore.
Duologue added to open for Kodaline  on Nov 5th. Great band, seen them 3 times at SXSW.
Sadly will be missing it for Antemasque

Yep.  I hope it doesn't cause it to be more crowded than usual.

It is funny how one Letterman appearance blows a band up.

I really don't get it. They're an OK band, I enjoyed their set at The Camel in Richmond about a month before that. Then he danced funny on Letterman and all of a sudden Future Islands became the de facto indie vanguard. Their potential attendance at concerts increased 8 to 10-fold overnight.
Yep.  And, not even from one of their better albums.  The new one is just ok.  The one before, great.  The one before that, perfect.

They are really nice guys.  I always see them at random Baltimore shows when they are not touring.  They deserve everything they get.  They have worked over a decade to "make it overnight."

They do seem that way. My friend I went with had seen them once before and had introduced himself and they remembered him and his name, and did tequila shots with him. (Julian does not abide prole hispanic liquor.) No one else was even really coming up to them at the bar during the openers, there was maybe 120 there. Two months later, after the Letterman thing, that scene would literally be unbelievable. Just wacky.
Last time a TV appearance did this for a band?

There has to be something since Beatles/Ed Sullivan.

Counting Crows on SNL? Supposedly the lead singer was functionally homeless and they hadn't had a song break the top 200 when they played and Mr. Jones jumped 40 spots on the pop charts three weeks in a row following that.

I may be mis-remembering the finer details of that.
Ricky Martin basically introduced himself to the world on the 1999 Grammy's doing "Cup of Life. He was well-known in the Latin countries, but he was immediately famous around the world after that.
