It's essentially the 9:30 club with just a little shittier service and a terrible calendar… but venue wise, pretty darn similar.

So much going on that weekend… Hopefully I can attend.  I still wish we would of all roadtripped to Richmond for that Pallbearer/Cough show.

I went to that and it was by far the best I've seen Pallbearer in the 4 or 5 times I've seen them.

I know it's not on the level of Diarreah Planet, but this should still be pretty good.

o i don't know…nothing jumps out at me here… i think the silver spring jazz festival tends to be more substantial…this year they have branford marsalis.. not sure who else..its on the same day i think..of course one would have to go to silver spring…i went there today and i can't recommend it anymore..first of all the stretch on 495 on the maryland side is sheer murder.. never seen so many people driving so badly at such a fast speed…and then if you dont' want to drive 85 you're the bad guy… then montgomery county seems to have installed traffic cameras virtually everywhere.i find it a huge turnoff

a few years back i saw allen toussaint at the silver spring one..that was special… i missed aaron neville one year and i can't remember who else they had over there..but its clear they tend to spend a bit ore money and get better acts…

poncho sanchez might be cool .. he did play with/for cal tjader for many years so i'm sure there'd be a cal tribute moment/recognition song..

i saw rittenhouse once at bohemian caverns.. he's allright but i don't think he's any great shakes… as far as local jazz talent i'll take antonio parker any day of the week.. he tends to play at hr57 and is really good
I'm interested in Naomi Shelton…like a gospel version of Sharon Jones…
she opened for her at the 930 in 2010?
