It's Joy Division, isn't it. I don't listen to Interpol, but have read about 147 places that they're almost a facsimile of one of those bands…my bad.

dunno as much as i like the first two cosmic rough riders records, i've never heard anything good about their third record sans the orginial lead singer. now if they are back to orginal lineup…

got to see them once as a five piece at dingwalls in london. it was an amazing set, one of the best i'd ever seen. talented musician and singers complete with five part harmonies at points. however, they were the support act for the Posies who came on to turn in even BETTER performance which will go download in the annuals. they were on fire that night, and the audience was totally into as well. the cosmic's were a bit of distant memory by the end of the evening. why can't all shows be like that :)

so not sure if i'd go, although kosmette's never seen them live, so will give it a go. don't think it's going to be the same

i just checked the cosmic's website… they are now down to a trio.

Joy Division, no question..but then Cure are a ripoff of Joy division/Smiths so either would work, but to say Interpol is a rip off of Joy Division is the most direct.

The Cure are contemporaries of Joy Division first albums in the same year! 1979 I think.

Which predates the first smiths album by about 5 years.

The Cure formed in '76. Joy Division formed after the pistols gig in '77. The cure had Killing an arab on the demo that got them signed to the record company.
