Just Announced

I was to the left of the soundbooth for the GBQ set, and yeah, Tiesto was too damn loud. The sound mix for almost every set at Coachella this year left a lot to be desired, in my mind. Oh well, it was still a great festival!

Maybe I'm already deaf but I didn't hear Tiesto's set during GBQ's set. Maybe because I was upfront?

Tiesto drowned out both Cornelius and GBQ. You couldn't avoid that racket even if you stood up close for either set. Maybe I should've seen the Rapture.

Daman Albarn between a couple songs:

"That is quite possibly the loudest ice cream van I've ever heard."
The Willie Nelson show at Merriweather also includes Merle Haggard and Ray Price! (apologies if this has already been posted)
That would have been a great show 35 years ago. In 2007, I'm not so sure. I saw Willie maybe 10 years ago, and he seemed to be on the downslide even then.

Yeah, he is boring live now…he should open for Merle Haggard.

I saw Merle at the Birchmere and Willie open for Bob in Aberdeen a few years back. Both were awesome.

I'm just curious, with all the anti-Tiesto slaggin going on. What set of his have you heard that turned you so against him, which tour did you see that was so bad that just the mention of his name seems to send a few of you into slander overdrive? I don't think he's the best DJ out there, but I haven't heard one of his sets sound as bad as being portrayed here, but if there are some boots or personal reviews that reflect the complete shit that seems to be the consensus I'd like hear/read them because frankly I'm missing something…and I hate to miss anything.

Yeah…it kind of saddened me to see the ticket prices on this tour. Granted, it would be cool to see them with the BSO, but upwards of $100? Makes me miss the days of a $15 Black Cat show. And it's extra lame because I actually dug the latest album more than the one before it.

it's $40… which granted isn't exactly cheap, but at the same time they are playing with a symphony orchestra which doesn't typically lend itself to being cheap.

i saw ben folds perform with the bso and it was amazing. i just wish he had played 'bitches ain't shit' - but i digress…

How anyone over the age of say, 15, could possibly enjoy that song, is beyond me.

Hmmm…wonder where I got $100 bucks from? Oh well, still too rich for my blood.

I've grown to have a real problem seeing bands at large venues when I've seen them at smaller ones. For some reason, I just can't enjoy that anymore.

SNOB.

… for the LAWN. plus TM over-charges. seats in the pavilion are $75 + fees. definitely qualifies as an expensive show.
miss pretentious failed to tell you that $40 is for the LAWN! It is actually $90 per ticket for the best seats in the pavillion (after ticketmaster fees), or $76 at the box office :)

$40 for the lawn is quite high.
Ditto. And I don't think it's due to musical snobbery.
