Just Announced

$25?

Are you fucking serious?

Those tickets will go so fast.

They could have made it $75 and the prospect of MBV in a 1500 person club would have brought so many east-coasters into RVA it'd sell out in a minute. I can't believe MBV is coming to RVA. It's like a WEBLEBRITY IS A BITCH DAY miracle!

(If anyone wants to try buying an extra two for me, I'll do the same for them. If we both get tickets, I'm sure boardies will take them off our hands at face.)
What ticketing system does the National use?

They actually use two: Ticketmaster and ticketstobuy.com

Tickets will be on sale through both.

They last played the mainstage actually. These guys are a one trick pony regardless…
Ahh.

Didn't know they came back after the backstage gig.

Im definitely going to try and score extras for friends who might not even go.

This is by far the best news of the day.
I bet there's a ticket limit. Four or even two.

Simultaneously on Saturday morning? How does one choose their vendor? What's the difference? Or is it just to manage traffic or something?

I would be coming from Silver Spring, should I plan to drive home after the show or crash at a friend's. It'd only take two hours late night, yeah?
holy mother of god. MBV is coming to the National??!?!?!?!?!?!??!

this is a dream come true. no wait - this is a fucking fantasy come true.

what time on saturday does it go onsale? anyone know?

Carytown, a few blocks from Plan 9 and Byrd Theatre, right off Byrd Park.

And freaking out doesn't begin to explain this!!

I have no idea the difference between the two or how tickets are allocated. Ticketstobuy is the less used one, and has lower charges, but will The National allocate any tickets to them for a show such as this? Who knows?

Silver Spring is probably closer to 2:15 w/o traffic from The National.

oh nice. i love carytown. i live off of park ave, so i'm within walking distance. so many good restaraunts and small shops, and plan 9 is like my 2nd home.

i seriously cant believe this is happening. this will be the highlight of the summer for me!
also - buy tix at the national if you can (at the venue itself). You wont pay a single cent in fees. you'll pay 25 per ticket and nothing more.

I still can't believe it. I went to Plan 9 earlier and there were actually employees crying over it. CRYING!!

Idt they're going to be open when tickets go on sale. If this gets ANY publicity, we're going to have half the east coast trying to buy tickets, so I'm going to use the $6 insurance of ticketmaster so I can have as good a shot at tickets as possible.
Dammit, I wish My Bloody Valentine would play DC. Is it really too much to ask?! Well, I'll take whatever MBV I can get. 2+ hour road trip, here I come (assuming I can get a ticket!).
I'm going to call the National tomorrow and ask about if they'll be open. I think they will - their box office hours are 10-3, but i'll call just to make sure.
